BT21 is more than just a line of characters; it’s a creative collaboration between global K-pop sensation BTS and LINE Friends.

Launched as part of a larger branding initiative, BT21 characters have taken the world by storm, offering fans a playful and imaginative way to connect with the personalities of each BTS member. Every character is thoughtfully designed by the BTS members themselves, reflecting their individual traits and quirks in a fun, creative way.

TATA – Designed by V (Taehyung)

TATA is a bright red, heart-shaped alien with an incredibly flexible body. Designed by V, this character represents his love for the unexpected and the quirky. TATA’s ability to stretch and transform its shape symbolizes V’s creative and out-of-the-box thinking. It’s no surprise that TATA has become one of the most beloved BT21 characters, embodying V’s playful yet mysterious personality.

RJ – Designed by Jin

Jin, often known as the “worldwide handsome,” chose to design RJ, an alpaca that is as warm and fluffy as his heart. RJ is depicted wearing a scarf and enjoys cooking for his friends, a subtle nod to Jin’s own love of food and nurturing spirit. This lovable alpaca reflects Jin’s caring nature and his desire to make others feel at home, much like the role he plays within BTS.

SHOOKY – Designed by Suga

Suga’s creation, SHOOKY, is a tiny, mischievous cookie with a surprising fear of milk. Known for his sharp wit and rebellious side, Suga designed SHOOKY to capture that cheeky, unpredictable energy. The character’s quirky fear of milk adds to the charm, showing that even tough cookies have their weaknesses. SHOOKY’s rebellious streak is a perfect reflection of Suga’s unpredictable and often humorous personality.

MANG – Designed by J-Hope

MANG, the masked dancer, is the creation of J-Hope, BTS’s sunshine and dance king. MANG loves to dance, which is a direct nod to J-Hope’s passion for choreography and performance. The mystery behind MANG’s mask adds an element of intrigue, much like how J-Hope’s bright and happy exterior sometimes hides a deeper, more thoughtful side. This character is a playful tribute to J-Hope’s dynamic and joyful spirit.

CHIMMY – Designed by Jimin

CHIMMY, the puppy in the yellow hoodie, was created by Jimin, who is often associated with his kind-hearted and cheerful demeanor. COOKY – Designed by Jungkook

Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, designed COOKY, a tough and fearless bunny with a strong personality. COOKY may look cute, but don’t be fooled—this bunny has a passion for working out and is determined to be strong. COOKY represents Jungkook’s competitive nature, his perseverance, and his desire to constantly improve. The character embodies a perfect mix of cute and fierce, much like Jungkook himself.

Koya – Designed by RM

Koya, the sleepy koala, is a reflection of RM’s thoughtful and introspective personality. Known for his love of deep thinking and intellectual pursuits, RM designed Koya to represent a koala who loves to dream and ponder life. Koya is often seen lying down or resting, symbolizing RM’s calm, reflective nature. This character beautifully captures RM’s philosophical side and his love of peace and quiet.

Van – Representing ARMY

Van, a robot with a split face, wasn’t designed by any specific BTS member but by the BT21 team to represent ARMY, the loyal and supportive fanbase of BTS. Van acts as a guardian to the other BT21 characters, much like how ARMY looks out for BTS. Van’s dual appearance, half black and half white, symbolizes the balance between good and bad, always protecting and guiding the rest of the BT21 family.
